Mattresses

Colchon Marbella Spain Mattresses by Absolute Beds, huge ranges in store and online. Choose from price, quality, colours, fabrics and sizes. Memory Foam / Visco Elastic

Absolute Beds is the home of the memory foam mattress, a relatively new type of polyurethane foam technology called Visco Elastic. Amazingly, memory foam was initially designed and utilised by NASA to absorb the incredible forces astronauts encounter. With a unique feel, it constantly adjusts in response to your body heat and weight to form the perfect contour to your body. The benefit of this new technology is two fold - it allows you to reduce pressure points thereby minimising sleep discomfort and aids relief from the strains and tension of everyday life.

Latex Mattresses

Latex is naturally derived from mature rubber trees. It merges the finest elastic material with the perfect support medium, the air, in a composition of inter-linking, open cells that are connected by a network of micro channels. The highly specialised manufacturing process results in a luxurious latex foam mattress offering instant pressure relieving support. Latex is hypo-allergenic and has an aerated interior to keep the mattress ventilated. This feature also enables moisture dispersion and regulates body temperature. Latex mattresses do not need to be turned, are long lasting and silent in use. We would recommend Dunlopillo as the best manufacturer of latex sleeping products.

Pocket Spring Mattresses

Pocket springs are small soft springs, each contained in its own individual protective fabric casing. Each spring is able to work independently of one another although they are closely packed together. This individual spring action works to reduce the transmission of movement from one sleeping partner to another thereby minimising the ?roll-together? effect. The greater the number of springs, the better the support. The Spring Count is always based on the Standard King Size Mattress (150cm x 200cm ? 5? x 6?6?).

Open Coil Mattresses

This is the most widely used type of spring system. It is often used in the budget to middle price range mattresses. The mattress is made up of traditional open coil springs which are arranged in rows connected to one another at the top and bottom by a spiral wire such that they all move when pressure is applied.

Fillings and Mattress Settlement

Quality mattresses and interior sprung mattresses often have generous layers of fillings on top of the springs. Generally speaking, the fillings give the comfort and the springs give the support. Mattresses may use a wide variety of fillings in different arrangements to create different comfort options. Materials such as cotton, wool, foam, polyester, hair or silk are often used for their resilient and flexible nature and also their ability to absorb moisture. As these fillings have never been compressed (laid on before) they will start to settle over the first few months. You may find that your body leaves an impression on the mattress the first few times you sleep on it. This is normal and a sign of quality fillings in a mattress. Regularly turning your mattress will help even out this settlement.

Mattress Comfort

A comfortable mattress is one that offers the right amount of support for you. When deciding on a new mattress, your aim should be to achieve perfect posture in bed. If the mattress is too soft, your body will just slouch and this can cause back pain because your spine is out of alignment. If the mattress is too firm, you can get discomfort at pressure points such as your hips and shoulders. Ideally the mattress should mould to your own personal shape while providing the perfect support. It should keep the spine aligned and follow the contours of your body. You (and your partner) will need to make your own assessment as to how comfortable a mattress is guided by the advice of Absolute Beds specialist consultants and factors such as your size, weight, preferred sleeping position and needs. In the end comfort is extremely subjective, so take the time to find a mattress that suits your needs and gives you the support you are after.

Size Matters

Size does matter in the bedroom! Being knocked into by a sleeping partner is one of the most common complaints and a common reason for a restless night's sleep. Standard size beds don?t suit everyone and with a larger bed you are less likely to disturb your sleeping partner. To assist in your search for a bed that meets your needs Absolute Beds offers a made-to-measure service on certain styles (please contact us on +34 675 084 580 for more details). As a guide to the right size bed, you should be able to lie side by side, with your hands behind your head and your elbows out, without touching your partner. Additionally, your bed should be 10-15cm longer than the tallest partner. It is also worth considering the bed's height, other features such as the size of any storage areas and whether the bed will fit into your house. Whether you are tall or just need a bed to fit in a specific space, Absolute Beds? specialist consultants will be delighted to assist you.
