The Tall Mackintosh pine bed from Revival Bed Company is very popular in design because of its height and elegant proportion. The Mackintosh design is inspired by the famous Arts & Crafts Scottish designer, Charles Rennie Mackintosh.
Mackintosh pine beds come in a wide range of widths up to 8 feet and also a choice of bed head heights its 1845mm (the 'Tall' Macintosh) and 1445mm (the 'Little' Mackintosh). But whether you go for the Tall or the Little Mackintosh, the open slat construction gives this beautiful pine bed an airy, balanced feel.
The Mackintosh pine bed boasts handmade ceramic tiles which decorate its head and footboard - a feature that really has to be seen to be appreciated (As shown in extra Picture). Each tile is individually crafted by the experts at Clayworth Pottery, famous for their architectural restoration work at the Harrogate Spa and the London Underground. There is the blackwork detailing to each side of the crackle-glazed tiles on the head and footboards - yet another element that results in a handmade bed of uncompromising quality.

Natural wax: Hundreds of years of daily use give antique furniture a patina or natural finish. A good patina gives old furniture its warmth not to mention its value. Hand waxing as opposed to lacquering gives a far more authentic and rich finish especially after two or three coats.
Painted: Each piece of furniture is individually hand painted before the ageing process begins. Once the paint is completely cured the knots are exposed and corners are worn off. But it's the woodworm effect that gives the furniture unique, two hundred-year old charm.
